How to Replace SparkShipping in 2026: A Migration Playbook for Shopify Operators
A pragmatic migration guide: what to export from SparkShipping, how to map your existing vendor connections, and how to cut over without losing a single order.
Why operators consider migrating from SparkShipping
SparkShipping has been a major player in Shopify multi-vendor dropshipping for years, and many operators run on it successfully. But over time, several common patterns push operators to evaluate alternatives:
- Inventory sync cadence — daily batch syncs leave high-velocity SKUs showing "in stock" while orders quietly turn into refunds.
- Per-order fees on top of base subscription compound quickly at volume.
- Shared "from" address on transactional email — your customers see a generic third-party sender, hurting deliverability and brand consistency.
- Failure visibility — when a vendor's API has a bad day, errors don't always surface clearly. You find out from the customer.
- No native time-bound vendor routing for distributor incentive programs (Nalpac cashback, Meyer trip incentives, Premier rebates).
If any of those resonate, a 2-3 hour migration can address them. Here's how.
Step 1: Identify what to bring with you
You don't need to extract much from SparkShipping itself. The data that matters lives in:
- Shopify — your products, variants, orders, customers. WickedPulse pulls this directly via Shopify API once you connect.
- Your distributors — credentials are with you, not Spark. You're just re-using them.
- Your routing rules — write down which vendors you prefer for which brands. We'll re-create them as routing overrides.
Step 2: Connect your distributors
Each distributor takes ~2 minutes. For Nalpac (the most common one): grab your credentials from api2.nalpac.com, paste into /vendors/new, save. We start syncing immediately.
First sync pulls full catalog (~22,000 SKUs for Nalpac, takes 5-15 minutes). After that, every 15 minutes we re-sync inventory deltas.
Step 3: Connect Shopify
Two paths:
- Custom App access token — fastest, ~30 seconds. Best for testing and your own stores.
- Public app install — coming when we publish to the App Store.
Step 4: Auto-map products by UPC
Hit /mappings/review. We've already proposed mappings between your vendor SKUs and your Shopify variants based on UPC matches. Click "Accept all UPC matches". For products that don't UPC-match, manually map (or push as new).
Step 5: Set up routing overrides for your vendor incentive programs
Worth setting up as part of migration since it's one of the bigger differences. If you're qualifying for Nalpac's cashback or trip incentive, set a routing override:
- Go to
/settings/routing - Add an override: brand=Pjur, vendor=Nalpac, end date=July 31
- Set the threshold target (e.g. $50,000)
Now every Pjur order auto-routes to Nalpac for the window. Dashboard shows running $ vs threshold. You hit the trip; you don't miss it.
Step 6: Cut over
Pause your SparkShipping integration. Make sure WickedPulse is receiving Shopify order webhooks. Place a test order. Confirm it routes correctly.
That's it. The whole migration is typically 2-4 hours, including waiting for the first catalog sync to complete.
What you gain
- 15-minute inventory cadence instead of daily batch
- $0 per-order fee instead of $0.30+
- Custom domain on transactional email via per-tenant SES
- AI-written SEO descriptions for every product (Claude Opus 4.7, ~$0.05/SKU)
- Time-bound vendor incentive routing with progress tracking
- Reliability layer with retries, circuit breakers, and a replay-able dead-letter queue
What it costs
Growth tier ($149/mo monthly, $1,490/yr annual) covers most multi-store operators. Includes 3 Shopify stores, 5 vendor connections, 5,000 orders/month, all the AI features. See the full plans →
The migration took an afternoon. We're saving $400/mo on per-order fees alone, and inventory accuracy went from "sometimes" to "always". — JD, owner-operator (15+ Shopify stores)
